What does a composite fence cost?

A useful budget starts with the complete layout. Linear footage matters, but posts, corners, gates, mounting method, delivery, and site work can change the total just as much.

Material estimate

Six choices shape the order.

Fence runs

Measure each straight run separately. Rounding happens by run, so several short sections may require more panels than one section with the same total footage.

Corners and endpoints

Every connected layout needs the correct post arrangement. Count starts, ends, turns, and any selected closing posts.

Gate openings

Subtract each gate width from its fence run, then add the correct single- or double-gate set and required gate posts.

Installation method

In-ground posts and surface-mounted posts use different components. Select the method that fits the approved site design.

Site conditions

Slopes, demolition, rock, utilities, access, drainage, engineering, and local requirements can affect labor and supporting materials.

Fulfillment

Pickup, local delivery, regional delivery, taxes, and special handling should be confirmed for the ZIP code and order size.

Let the shape drive the quantities

A fence with the same total footage can need a different number of panels and posts depending on how many runs, corners, gates, and endpoints it contains. Entering the layout is more reliable than multiplying one price by total feet.

Keep an allowance for field conditions

The estimator offers an optional material buffer, but extra material does not replace careful measurement. Review the final plan before ordering custom, oversized, or high-quantity items.

How do I estimate the number of fence panels?

Measure each fence run separately, subtract the width of any gates in that run, divide the remaining footage by the panel width, and round up. Then review corners, endpoints, slopes, and closing posts before ordering.

Are gates included in the panel count?

No. Gate openings should be removed from the fence-run footage and the correct gate set should be added separately.

Does the estimator include installation labor?

No. The Compoxen estimator creates a material starting point. Labor, demolition, excavation, concrete, permits, engineering, site work, taxes, pickup, delivery, and other project costs are separate unless expressly included in a written quote.
